It has been a while since my last post. Well almost a whole month!
Little girl is doing well at almost 23 weeks along. She is getting big in there. I went from hardly feeling any movement to now feeling kicks and flips. It is a welcomed comfort to all of the worry that comes from not knowing if she is OK. These kicks are definitely reassuring.
I had my first perinatal visit for gestational diabetes last week. The nurse was helpful and got me set up on my eating and blood monitoring plan. A big difference in this pregnancy is that they want me to fax a journal of what I ate, every week, along with a log of all of my glucose results. They are also going to do a fetal echo at the end of February to examine the baby's heart and extra ultrasounds toward the end of the pregnancy to monitor her growth. I didn't have to do all of that with DS, but it is reassuring to know that baby girl is getting extra attention. If a complication arises, I'm sure they will catch it.
I am doing very well in the weight gain department. I have gained 7 pounds, so far, as of my last doc appointment on 1/11. It's a 2 pound gain from my pre-pregnancy weight. I lost 5 initially and then gained it back. I weighed myself on the home scale and no change. That is probably from the new GD diet.
Her room is coming along. The paint is up and the furniture has been put together. No decorations yet. The top half of the room is pink and bottom white separated by chair railing. We are going to decorate with Lady Bug by Kids Line (see link). I will post pictures as it comes along.

We are still trying to decide on a name. Top contenders are Cailey (like Bailey or Hailey) , Charlotte, or Cailyn. Her middle name is Victoria.
Those are all of the updates for now!

I have it...........
The doctor's office called today and the results of my 3 hour glucose test are in. I do have gestational diabetes for the second time. I go in next Wednesday for an appointment with the perinatalogist and nutritionist. I am really not looking forward to going through this process again. I am glad that I have only gained 5 pounds so far. Now that I will be on the super strict diet and exercise plan again that should work in my favor. I gotta look at what positive there is..........
